They've been very good at clearing up after themselves and I think I'm partly culpable for not checking exactly what they were doing before they left. Also the bedroom velux windows don't usually allow water in when open:I've had this conversation with my son many times who insists that his window can be open when it rains, so its been an unlucky mix of windows open to the wrong angle and a cloudburst of heroic proportions. Luckily the top rooms are just about empty now the off spring have all left home so there's not much to damage in them.
